From the bustling streets of Bombay to the syncopated beat of New York, Hiten Manseta transformed a generation of textile traders and apparel manufacturers into a contemporary accessories design firm. With the 50-year-old family-owned factory in India behind him, Hiten brought together the new world design team that launched the New York City–based company in 1993.

Drawing loyal support for our small leather goods from exclusive boutiques and fine department stores, the growing demand for new accessories with integrity in design, materials and manufacturing, encouraged Tusk to add to its line exquisitely designed top grain leather handbags in 1999. By 2004, the Tusk expansion was complete with a sleek wholesale showroom, warehousing and a flagship retail store at 242 West 26th Street in the tony neighborhood of Chelsea, New York City.
